They say not to drop the soap, but have you ever wondered why? Step into this mischievous little rhyme and find out what lurks beneath the bubbles…
Inspired by the word prompt of “bathtub,” this playful rhyme takes you on a sudsy little adventure where the ordinary turns peculiar. A bit whimsical, a bit eerie, and just absurd enough to make you think twice before your next soak. Hold onto your soap—because once it slips away, you never know what might claim it…
The water was warm, the bubbles were high,
A perfect old soak in the bathtub nearby.
The rubber duck bobbed with a smug little grin,
As steam curled and danced on the porcelain rim.
But somewhere below, in the pipes out of sight,
A mischief was lurking—a shadow in white.
With fingers so sneaky and laughter so light,
It waited for moments of perfect delight.
For once in a while, with a slip and a plop,
A careless hand fumbled—a terrible drop!
A gasp filled the air, a splash hit the drain,
And the gremlin below? Oh, he cackled again.
Another one taken, another one claimed,
For soap in his kingdom was part of the game.
He hoarded them all, in a sudsy old lair,
With bars stacked in towers—just floating midair.
So lather with caution, don’t loosen your grip,
Or down through the pipes, your soap it may slip.
And if you should hear a small chuckle or cheer…
Well, just grab a new bar, and pretend not to hear.
