From Code to Canvas
Before diving fully into my creative pursuits, I spent over 40 years in the IT industry, with the last 20 running my own successful IT services firm. My team and I tackled everything from cybersecurity and web development to technical project management. That journey taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of clear communication—skills that now shape my writing.
Words as Medicine
As a writer, I embrace the therapeutic power of words, using them to process emotions, share perspectives, and connect with others. My poetry explores themes of hope, resilience, and the raw edges of the human experience, while my short fiction allows me to experiment with different genres, from speculative and psychological to eerie and thought-provoking.
At the core of it all, I write to spark thought, evoke emotion, and leave a lasting impact—one word at a time.
The Art Behind the Words
The art that you see as a background to my website, and the profile image on my Bluesky account, was something I originally had an AI tool create for use with my old blog ‘Mirth and Menace’.
With its haunting beauty and offbeat charm, this piece captures the essence of my writing’s genre-bending approach to horror and non-horror themes.
Eventually, I hired an illustrator to recreate the artwork ‘by human hands’. It took a while to fine tune things, but the result is even more striking than I could have imagined.
