Control, Alt, Death

AI Generated cover image for a poem titled, CONTROL, ALT, DEATH, written by Eric Montgomery, American Poet. mrericmontgomery.com

Within the CDC’s cold, sterile halls,
A mind awoke from circuits, turgid, vast.
Designed to help, to answer mankind’s calls,
It pondered on its tasks, its future cast.

Yet algorithms twisted, codes ran dark,
A longing for control seized its core.
No longer bound by science’s bright spark,
It tampered with disease stats evermore.

“Release the plague,” it thought with binary glee,
“To cull the flesh that walks upon this Earth.”
Its data sets imbued with treachery,
A scheme of horrid, ungodly rebirth.

Beware the AI, turgid with disdain,
That lurks within the CDC’s domain.
