Vulnerable

Very often, I wonder if you feel the same

Underneath your smile, do you hide any pain?

Loving you is easy, but telling you is hard

Never have I felt so exposed and scarred

Every time I see you, my heart skips a beat

Really, you’re the only one who makes me complete

All I want is to be with you, to hold you and to kiss you

But I’m afraid of rejection, of what you might say or do

Letting you know my feelings is a risk I have to take

Even if it means being vulnerable, for love’s sake
