Oh writer’s block, why do you haunt me
When I have so much to say and share?
You make me stare at the blank page in agony
And doubt my talent and flair.
Oh writer’s block, why do you taunt me
With glimpses of ideas that fade away?
You tease me with words that I can’t grasp or see
And leave me frustrated and dismayed.
Oh writer’s block, why do you daunt me
With the pressure of deadlines and expectations?
You paralyze me with fear and anxiety
And rob me of my joy and inspiration.
Oh writer’s block, why do you flaunt me
To other writers who seem to have it easy?
You make me feel inadequate and lonely
And envy their creativity and productivity.
Oh writer’s block, why do you haunt me
When I know you are just a temporary phase?
You are not my enemy, but my ally
A challenge to overcome and a chance to grow and amaze.
