Sensuous

A Kyrielle poem

For today’s #vss365 word prompt, I thought I would try to write a Kyrielle style-poem, which is a form of French poetry that consists of four-line stanzas, with each line having eight syllables. The last line of each stanza is repeated as the first line of the next stanza, creating a rhythmic and musical effect.

She smiles at him with sensuous eyes
And plays with her hair as she sighs
He wonders what she has in mind
She smiles at him with sensuous eyes

He tries to read her subtle signs
And hopes that she will be his prize
But she is not so easy to find
She smiles at him with sensuous eyes

She teases him with words so coy
And makes him feel a rush of joy
He longs to hold her close and bind
She smiles at him with sensuous eyes
